\n \n At Gippsland Orthodontics, our goal is to give you a healthy,\n straight, beautiful smile that you've always wanted. We\n understand that choosing to receive orthodontic care is a big\n decision. Our practice will work with you every step of the way to\n make sure that your orthodontic care is as rewarding as possible.\n Gippsland Orthodontics utilizes the latest technology, offering a\n variety of treatment options to give you the customized, individual\n care that you deserve.\n \n Every smile starts with an initial consultation\n \n Your initial consultation at Gippsland Orthodontics will give you\n the opportunity to meet our team, learn more about orthodontics and\n find out which treatment options will best meet your needs.\n \n \n During your initial consultation we want to get to know each other\n and will involve:\n \n \n \n \n Being greeted by our friendly reception and administrative team\n
\n \n \n \n Review your medical and dental history forms
\n \n \n \n \n Provide an examination in which we look at the overall face,\n mouth, teeth, gums and x-rays. This examination will determine if\n you require treatment.\n
\n \n \n \n \n If treatment is required, we will often discuss treatment options\n available to you and help create a customized treatment plan\n
\n \n \n \n \n Discuss all financial information, private health insurance, and\n payment plans\n
\n \n
\n \n The treatment plan may require additional digital records of your\n teeth being taken (can be in the form of 3D models, x-rays or\n digital photographs) as they will be required for a personalised\n treatment plan. Please note we may request x-rays to be taken prior\n to the initial consultation.\n \n \n At this initial appointment, it is crucial that you ask questions\n and list any concerns that you may have. Do not hesitate in asking\n us anything, as we want to ensure that all your queries are taken\n care of. Our team will be glad to answer any questions you may have,\n and we will provide all of the information that you need to\n determine which treatment is appropriate for you.\n \n What happens after the initial consultation?\n \n If you have decided that orthodontic treatment is right for you,\n you're one step closer to achieving the smile you've always\n wanted! After your consultation, we will schedule your first\n appointment and Dr Adam will place your new orthodontic appliance.\n This appointment generally takes about an hour, and during this time\n our team will be available to make sure that you are as comfortable\n as possible.\n \n \n \n If your child requires treatment, but still needs time to develop\n and grow, treatment may be delayed till an appropriate time. If\n this is the case, you will be given a return date to begin\n treatment at a later stage.\n \n \n Scheduling Appointments\n \n Our practice will work with you to ensure that your appointments are\n as convenient as possible. It is important to understand that\n visiting the orthodontist about every four to ten weeks is an\n essential part of your orthodontic treatment. When scheduling\n appointments, please let us know what days and times work best for\n you.\n \n \n We understand that “life happens” at times! Getting stuck behind\n that milk tanker, running late while picking the kids up at school\n and leaving the appliance at home happens! If you're running\n late or need to reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible.\n We will do everything we can to accommodate you with reasonable\n notice.\n \n \n When you're ready to schedule your first appointment, contact\n our practice and our friendly scheduling coordinator will assist\n you. We're looking forward to working with you during this\n journey.\n \n Visiting The Dentist During Orthodontic Treatment\n \n It is extremely important that you continue to visit your family\n dentist once every six months, even during your orthodontic\n treatment. Dentists are awesome at completing routine dental\n check-ups and professional teeth cleans. If extra dental care is\n needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to\n make sure that you are receiving the best care possible.\n \n \n In some cases, we may have to work with a dental specialist to treat\n an underlying disease condition. This may include an Ear Nose and\n Throat specialist, dental specialist (for example, a periodontist or\n a prosthodontist) or an allied health specialist (i.e., speech\n pathologist) to work together to achieve the best outcome for your\n treatment.\n \n \n Our mission is to make you feel comfortable and give you a smile to\n be happy about!\n \n\n {/* \n \n \n Adam Wallace is a specialist orthodontist who has had more than\n 17 years of experience in the dental profession. He was born and\n raised in Arawata, South Gippsland. His mum owned the Quilter’s\n Barn in Loch and his dad worked with Graham Rowe at Vin Rowe\n Farm Machinery of which he has had many fond memories as a kid!\n \n \n Adam attended Chairo Christian School (Leongatha campus) and\n went on to complete both his Dentistry and Orthodontic\n specialist training at the University of Melbourne. He has\n continued to lecture, demonstrate and examine at the University\n since graduating in 2005. Additionally, he examines overseas\n trained dentists at the Australian Dental Council. As much as\n Adam loves teaching, the majority of his career has been spent\n at a practice in Heathmont, Melbourne.\n \n \n Adam’s undergraduate research was quite apt coming from a dairy\n farm. He studied the casein proteins in milk and the protective\n effect on teeth to help reduce plaque formation. Milk is\n important for teeth and funnily enough, it seems to be an\n integral part of the family with his cousin’s husband being one\n half of the team running the awesome local business, Gippsland\n Jersey! Adam went on to graduate the Bachelor of Dental Science\n degree as valedictorian with honours and received a total of ten\n scholarships, prizes, awards and special achievements throughout\n his undergraduate degree.\n \n \n Following graduation, he went onto his Masters, researching the\n effects of bisphosphonate use on treatment of benign bone\n disease and impaired dental healing. His passion for academics\n pursued and he has held several academic roles including the\n Clinical Practice and Specialist Areas in Dentistry\n (Orthodontics) Convenor for the Bachelor of Oral Health program.\n Recently, his doctoral thesis was an important clinical study on\n the treatment outcome between Invisalign and traditional braces\n which intends to be published soon.\n \n \n Adam is passionate about orthodontics and thoroughly enjoys\n creating beautiful smiles for his patients. He likes to provide\n a personalised approach to his treatment to ensure that patients\n feel welcome and comfortable. Further to this, specialist\n orthodontic training and certification with the Australasian\n Board of Orthodontists has allowed him to appreciate the finer\n attention to detail in treatment.\n \n \n Outside Adam’s passion for his work and devotion to his\n patients, he is kept busy with a farm in the Strzelecki ranges\n where he has been living for the last 10 years. He currently has\n angus cattle, sheep, alpacas and two border collie x kelpie\n dogs. Family is also really important, and he looks forward to\n being able to spend more time with his family in the local areas\n of Drouin, Jindivick, Inverloch and Sale.\n \n \n Adam aims to provide specialist care for all his patients with a\n kind, gentle nature and looks forward to seeing several\n generations of patients in the future.\n \n \n Dr Adam provides treatment for all ages with affordable\n interest-free payment plans at Gippsland Orthodontics.\n \n \n \n Traditional braces
